At TraiTel Telecommunications we consider ourselves to be individuals who like to think outside of the square, therefore we like to design as well as produce innovative solutions that are outside of the norm. In saying that, we are almost contradicting what we have just told you by going out of our way to develop an internet based phone that imitates and works just like the standard telephone system.
So you may ask, what is so special about that?
Firstly, it means that with the use of your computer and internet connection you can make free telephone calls to other TraiTel users and take advantage of 'very low call costs' to users of the traditional telephone network.
Secondly, it means that with the TraiTel service you NO LONGER need to have a phone in your home or your business because TraiTel is one of the few companies in the world that can offer you 'incoming' calls as well as the most commonly available service of 'outgoing' calls. With TraiTel and TTMessenger you can have as many REAL telephone lines* as you want so that people can call you from a normal telephone as well as from other TTMessenger.
Most applications these days utilise user names as a means of identifying an individual. In general that's ok when it comes to email or instant messaging but what about if it has to do with a service that works like a phone, should it also work with user names even though they are totally unrelated? - As far as we are concerned it just doesn't make sense, we're accustomed to using real looking numbers to contact our friends, family and colleagues so at TraiTel Telecommunications we came up with a way to provide the same, a way to merge the features of the traditional phone system with the added simplicity and savings that you could only achieve by using a telephone service that uses the internet to carry the calls.
Can I have my current telephone number as my TTMessenger number?
Yes you can. With TraiTel you can not only be assigned a random virtual number that is in your area so that its easy for other people to call you, but if you would like to have your existing land line or cell phone telephone number as your virtual TraiTel number, then you can do that also. We are, however, very diligent when somebody requests an existing telephone number because we must make sure that you 'are' in fact the current owner of the number.
At TraiTel we want to make sure that people don't abuse the system and take numbers that don't belong to them, so we do our best to put procedures in place that confirm you are in fact affiliated with the number you request.
After we carry our own cross checks with existing directories and whatever other means we find to do this checks, our network will call you on your normal telephone and will provide you with a pin code that you will be able to enter when you are logged into web-messaging. The complete process should take no more than 30 minutes and once you have entered your newly given pin code into the system, your telephone number will become immediately active.

A real looking random virtual telephone number that is in your local calling area
The 30 second process lets you acquire a random telephone number. All you have to do is tell the system in what country, city, suburb you live in and you will instantly be assigned a number that looks like any other telephone number in your area which you will be able to use to make and receive calls from a TTMessenger to a TTMessenger. You can give this number to other people and they will find it very easy to remember because its in the same format as all the other numbers you're used to dialling. No user names or codes, just a normal looking telephone number!
Voice mail that works even when you are offline
After you install TTMessenger, you will have the opportunity to enable and record your own message greeting that can be heard by anybody who calls your new virtual number. Having done that, you can now turn off your computer or be in the other side of the world and you don't need to worry because as soon as you find a TTMessenger running in an internet cafe or in any computer with an internet connection, all you have to do is enter your user name and password to instantly receive all your voice messages, phone book entries and every single call record you have ever done!
Video calls
Video calls become enabled as soon as you plug in a camera into your computer. TTMessenger recognises that a camera is available and you will instantly be able to make and receive calls from other users who also have a camera installed in their computer. Calls are clear and the video images are great - the better your internet connection is, the better the experience. Video calls are free, fun and a lot more personal than standard calls.
TTMessenger is NOT Peer2Peer software
Due to the nature of Peer 2 Peer software and how it works, if you have an application that is based on this medium running on your computer, you may find that even though you haven't used it for a very long time your internet download allowances are being used anyway. Peer 2 Peer lets other users with the same application use your computer and internet connection as a 'jumping point' to be able to achieve their desired results and for the complete length of time that they are using you as a 'jumping point' you will be utilising your download allowance and may end up getting big and expensive surprises at the end of every month regardless of whether you actually used your computer or not.
We at TraiTel Telecommunications recognise that your download allowance is worth money and hence precious, so we came up with a much better solution that doesn't take advantage of your computer because nobody else knows that you have TTMessenger, unless you wanted to and told them yourself.
High quality phone calls to other TTMessenger users
TTMessenger uses the latest technology in sound compression to be able to deliver very clear audio without using unnecessary bandwidth or download allowances. Calls with TTMessenger are as clear or 'clearer' than the conventional telephone systems, when you hear the other person talk it will be heard in a very natural way, and in the same way your voice will be just as natural and clear to the person on the other side of the conversation.
Conference calling
With TTMessenger you can have a conference call with as many people as you like and from anywhere in the world. The call can have a mix of TTMessenger users as well as people who only have access to a conventional phone - if you have credit in your account, conferencing to 20 people or more at once with a mix of 10 using TTMessenger and the other 10 using a normal telephone line is easily done.
